Mold Basement – A Nightmare Story of Mold in the Basement

The smell. It was the smell that hit him first as he stepped warily down the creaky wooden steps to
the dark basement. He’d moved in just a couple of days ago and was finally exploring the last area of the house. But what on earth was down here?

As his eyes became accustomed to the dim light, a terrifying vision appeared. It looked as if a hole had been eaten into the far wall – literally eaten, with huge bite marks all around the edges. The wall was covered in a sickly slippery goo, seeping from the hole, dripping from the ceiling, and a chill ran down his spine as a droplet landed on his cheek……

Yes, having mold in the basement can be a nightmare! It is one of the most common places for a mold problem, but is probably the most ignored – after all, we don’t spend a great deal of time in the basement!

However, it should be dealt with, and if you have any sort of allergy you need to make this a top priority.

Unlike our friend in the opening paragraphs, you can’t always smell the mold – you may be so used to the smell that it registers as ‘normal’, or maybe you don’t have a good sense of smell. Either way, mold is not normal and it is a
threat to your health. Even if you don’t venture down to the basement very often, mold in the basement needs to be treated straight away to protect your health.
